Professor of Political Science at Lusófona University and researcher at the LusoGlobe Centre, Sílvia Mangerona argues that a statolatry in Portugal is evident in themes such as regionalization. She defends a model based on the principle of subsidiarity, with “power from the bottom up, from the person to the State”. And she says that in the euthanasia debate, “more than being secular, the State must be impartial”.
