II International Symposium on Catholic Studies

On March 7th and 10th, 2022, the II International Symposium on Catholic Studies takes place virtually. Working group 10 on Catholicism, Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue is coordinated by Prof. Jorge Botelho Moniz, Prof. José Brissos-Lino and Prof. Paulo Mendes Pinto.

In a Europe marked by metamorphoses and increasingly concerned with the rights and guarantees of its citizens, threats to freedoms, including religious freedom, impose the need for reflection on Catholicism in the affirmation of humanist and universal values. In this context, the question arises: what is the timeliness and relevance of the Second Vatican Council for the promotion of its ecumenical message and interreligious dialogue?

The event, organized by the Nucleus for Catholic Studies at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and by the Research Center for Theology and Religious Studies at the Catholic University of Portugal, also includes the participation of more professors from the LUSOGLOBE, such as Profa. Silvia Mangerona and Prof. Fernando Campos.
