Sabrina Medeiros, Cintiene Mendes, and Ana Paiva published a piece entitled "Policy building through semantics interoperability simulations."
Policy building depends on efforts that can include multistakeholder participation and effectiveness analysis. It seems challenging to progress policy compliance without considering the embedded functional aspects due to the complexity associated with the various levels of policy engagement under a regime such as the EU.
In this respect, simulations have been used for decades to enhance policy engagement and train practitioners to permit policy testing and incremental developments.
This proposal is based on semantic analysis to absorb complexity and amplify the chances of cross-national impact towards EU member states, benefiting smooth policy guidance and an integrated community. For this, we propose that simulations can be part of policy-building schemes to promote a better common and integrated understanding of the concepts involved in an incremental policy process. Our primary focus is building simulations through specific management software, considering semantic interoperability as an essential variable.
