A joint initiative of the Sociocultural and Training Commission of the Islamic Community of Lisbon and the Area of Science of Religions of ULHT. At the base of Mediterranean cultures we find spaces for meeting, affirmation and dispute of ideas. Whether it is the Mycenaean megaron or the Castro community house, whether it is the synagogue or the ecclesia, the idea of meeting and assembly has always been in the most essential aspect of an identity for millennia. Open, free, this will be the space of this gathering, where we intend to mark a way of being and discussing. Bringing together a scientific, academic area, which focuses on the Religious Phenomenon, and a religious community, we aim to overcome the constraints that society often has in relation to the religious, and provide the meeting. Without revivals and without utopias or false memories, we will have as our horizon the space for the meeting of cultures that was Al-Andaluz where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived together, evoking the name of Al-Mu'tamid, the King-Poet of Silves. However, this gathering will not focus on religious issues. The themes to be addressed are from the broad spectrum of citizenship and the major issues that shape today. The debates are civic, where everyone will take place, either as speakers or as participants. The religion or ideology of the speaker will never be looked at. These are ideas that are what you want.
