Abstract

Mind the Gap - Step up for gender equality is a project co-financed by the European Union Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program (JUST/REC), coordinated by AIDOS – Associazione Italiana Donne per lo Sviluppo (Italian Association Women for Development – Italy) in partnership with APF – Association for Family Planning (Portugal), European Network END FGM (End FGM EU – based in Belgium, operating at EU level) and Médicos del Mundo (Doctors of the World - Spain). The general objective of the project is to contribute to combating gender stereotypes in education in Italy, Spain and Portugal – three countries where practices in education still fuel gender inequality – thus reducing the influence of gender expectations on the choices of young people in education, at work and in life. The specific objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of professionals and other adults in contact with children and young people, to identify and address gender stereotypes in education.
