Abstract

The Roadmap of Interreligious and Cultural Dialogue (RDIRC) is a project conceived by the area of Science of Religions of the Un. Lusófona, in partnership with the Association "Karingana Wa Karingana", hosted and financed by the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality. This civic and pedagogical project took place in parallel with the Citizenship in Portugal Roadmap – Stop, Think, Act, promoted by ANIMAR (Portuguese Association for Local Development), which toured the country with the aim of promoting dialogue and the sharing of experiences on Citizenship and Equality. The Roadmap of Interreligious and Cultural Dialogue added the approach to the religious phenomenon, recognizing and framing Religious Diversity, promoting Respect through Knowledge and Dialogue. It took place over five months, implementing two programs in several municipalities distributed throughout the national territory. The project included two categories of actions: "SEE the Dialogue in Schools", focused on working with children and young people in schools, and "Religions and the challenges of today", a cycle of major thematic debates.

Religions - We consider it important that this axis is inspired by the previous ones. However, we emphasize that, in practice, the 3-axis approach will not be sequential. On the contrary, there will be a simultaneity articulated around specific moments, throughout the classes or within the same class. In this way, we consider that we can approach the religious phenomenon with understanding and respect for the "other". In this line, we will present the religious phenomenon from three interdependent approaches:

  1. The current situation based on the personal experience and social universe of the students, in their contact with different religious manifestations – including the different cultural characteristics and manifestations in each religion, such as distinctive beliefs and habits; the deconstruction of prejudices, stereotypes and commonplaces (the distinction between what characterizes religion and what characterizes the cultural and ethnic groups sometimes associated).
  2. The ideas, accounts and myths of religion in time, its conception of the transcendent, its messengers, its books (if applicable), message, principles, practices and main traditions. It is sought that the philosophical aspects take place in articulation with the experiences and conclusions related to axes 1 and 2 and, also philosophically, that the descriptions of each religion follow a standard scheme (typological presentation, tables of ideas, etc.) that allows some comparative vision.
  3. Historically, there will be a concern to facilitate the vision of the main milestones in a chronological line not only of each religion, but of all the religions addressed, in order to give visibility to events in time, with their simultaneities and parallelisms, or continuities or disruptions. Perception in space will also be facilitated by the indication on the map of the origin and movements of expansion and contraction of movements. Clear examples will be given of moments of confrontation and conflict, but also of historical periods of tolerance and coexistence between different religions.
  4. Didactic-pedagogical activities of the action "VER o Diálogo nas Escolas" | Activities with schools, municipalities and other social partners

1. Exhibition dimension

Exploratory exposition from a non-denominational approach according to the structure SEE: Values, Spiritualities and Religions. An attempt was made to highlight elements of sensitivity and awareness of human value and the universality of the perception of the value of each human individual and of the universal notions of fraternity among human beings; space was safeguarded for the spiritual dimension from a non-confessional perspective, of recognition of the individual immanence of an inner axis, which gives meaning to things and organizes experience, regardless of the religious, agnostic or atheist perspective: and finally, the religious phenomenon in its diversity and forms was approached, in a perspective that deconstructs prejudices and stimulates interest in the "other", for the "different, in the appreciation of diversity.

2. Philosophical dynamics

Activity formulated around the peddy paper action, with a "general culture" contest on the religious universe, aiming to show the variety and scope of the theme, on the one hand; and, on the other hand, seeking to deconstruct some common errors of perception generated by prejudice in the religious sphere, often sedimented as "general opinion".
