Paulo Mendes Pinto

Paulo Mendes Pinto is PhD in Cultural Studies from Aveiro University. He is a specialist in the History of Religions, working mainly on Ancient Mythology and Jewish Studies. He has directed the area of ​​Science of Religions at Universidade Lusófona since 2006 (where he led the Master, 2007-2011, and the Degree in Science of Religions, 2007-2017).
Civically, his work is also developed in the field of dialogue between and with religions, in contemporary religious identities and the development of an impartial culture of respect for religions, with particular emphasis on work with the school environment (he directs the project REC-XXI – Religions, Education and Citizenship).
He was the Ambassador of the World Parliament of Religions (2015-18) and founder of the European Academy for Religions (2017).

He is an advisor to the administration of the Un. Lusófona and General Director of the Executive Secretariat of the Higher Academic Council of «Lusófona Education».
