LusoGlobe – Lusófona Centre on Global Challenges announced an open lecture featuring Professor Pedro Silveira, entitled “The Portuguese Executive Triangle in Comparative Perspective: Ministers, Advisers and Senior Public Administration Officials”.

The lecture will explore the relationships between political leadership, ministerial advisers and senior public administration officials within the Portuguese executive, considering their respective roles in governmental decision-making and policy coordination.

Adopting a comparative perspective, the session will address the organisation of executive power, the interaction between political and administrative actors, and the institutional dynamics shaping contemporary governance. Particular attention will be given to the relationships between political elites, government structures and public administration.

Professor Pedro Silveira is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at NOVA FCSH, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, and a researcher at IPRI-NOVA. His research interests include political elites, governments and political leadership.

The open lecture will offer students and researchers an opportunity to discuss the institutional organisation of executive power and the challenges of democratic governance, contributing to a broader understanding of political leadership and administrative coordination in comparative politics.

The session will also contribute to LusoGlobe's academic outreach activities, with the invited speaker participating in a subsequent podcast discussion.
