“Buen Vivir: Sharing the future for transformative change”

March 19, 2024

As part of the celebrations for World Social Work Day, which took place on March 19, the Institute of Social Work at Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa organized this commemorative event.

This year’s theme launched by the International Federation of Social Workers (FIAS) is “Buen Vivir: Sharing the future for transformative change”, which emphasizes the need for social workers to adopt innovative, community-led approaches based on the wisdom of local populations and harmonious coexistence with nature.

The day was attended by fellow social workers Isabel Vieira, António Brito Guterres, Ana Sofia Branco and Mariana Duarte, and ended with a musical moment recommended by the finalist student of social work, Tiago Carrasqueira. We thank all the people – students, teachers and social workers – who were present at this important moment of celebration of the profession.
