On March 31st, the LusoGlobe research centre had the pleasure of hosting Dr. João Fonseca Santos, representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB), for an engaging and insightful lecture at Universidade Lusófona.
The event was part of the FCSEA and LusoGlobe academic activities,, and focused on the EIB’s role within the system of International Financial Institutions (IFIs), its funding model, investment priorities, engagement with EU member states, and external cooperation strategies. Dr. Santos provided students with a deeper understanding of the EIB’s institutional mission and current strategic approaches, contributing meaningfully to their academic and professional development.
This session is integrated into a broader academic initiative aimed at preparing students for future careers in international governance and economic cooperation. The student-led research on the EIB may also be published as part of the university’s OpenAIRE collection, showcasing original work by emerging scholars.
