The contemporary presence of Muslims in Portugal was signalled in 2018 with the 50th anniversary of its most representative institution, the Islamic Community of Lisbon. Over this period of more than half a century, this presence has been accompanied by publishing activity, materialising in books, magazines, pamphlets, and other publications, the transformations that Muslims have undergone in the country.  This exhibition aims to take a of Islamic publications in Portugal from 1968 to 2024, insofar as they reflect as these publications reflect the Islamic presence in contemporary Portugal, reflecting and at the same time contributing to moulding it. This exhibition mainly includes texts produced and published by Muslims in Portugal, but also some books and translations by non-Muslims and non-Portuguese speakers.
