A new peer-reviewed article co-authored by Susana Rogeiro Nina and Ana Belchior has just been published in the prestigious Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS), a Q1-ranked journal with an impact factor of 3.2.
The article, titled “Who Is Responsible for the State of the Economy? Media Narratives on Responsibility Attribution During the Eurozone Crisis in Ireland, Portugal and Spain”, examines how national media in the three countries framed responsibility for economic conditions at the height of the Eurozone crisis.
Drawing significantly from the author's doctoral research and data collected through the ERC-funded MAPLE project, the article provides a comparative analysis of media narratives and the political consequences of attributing blame or credit for economic performance.
