Roundtable: Ukraine’s Future in the European Union

Sept, 2025

On September 10, 2025, Lusófona University in Lisbon hosted a timely and highly relevant discussion: the “Roundtable: Ukraine’s Future in the European Union.” Organized in partnership with the Movimento Liberal Social (MLS) and the Land of Freedom Foundation (LFF), the event will foster a critical debate on Ukraine’s path toward European integration, both in terms of security and political alignment.

The roundtable took place at the Lusófona Lisbon University Center, Professor José Araújo Auditorium and directly connects to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The discussion provided academic and policy-oriented perspectives on the implications of Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union, highlighting the broader consequences for security, stability, and shared values. Students and faculty in International Relations and Political Science were able to engage in a debate that bridged theory and practice in a unique learning opportunity.
