Teresa Ruel is a Political Scientist. Since September 2024, she has been an Assistant Professor (non-tenure) at Lusófona University (Lisbon, Portugal), and a Researcher at Lusoglobe - Lusófona University. She served as an Assistant Professor at the ISCSP- University of Lisbon from 2020 to 2014 and at the University of Aveiro from 2016 to 2020.
She received a Ph.D in Political Science (2015) from ICS-ULisbon, a MA (2009) and BA (2005) degrees in Political Science from the Technical University of Lisbon (ISCSP-UTL). She also has an Advanced Diploma on Communication and Political Marketing (2006) from the same institution. During 2011 she was at the University of Salamanca (Spain) and the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain) as a visiting student.
She has published peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters.
Her main research interests are Comparative Politics, Autonomous Regions (Portugal and Spain); Regional Elections, Regional politics/Territorial Politics, and Comparative Research Designs.
