On March 19, 2025, the Centro Científico e Cultural de Macau (CCCM) in Lisbon hosted the presentation of the book China, the EU and the Atlantic, authored by Paulo Duarte, a collaborating researcher at LusoGlobe. The event was part of CCCM’s Spring Conferences series and brought together scholars, students, and invited guests for an engaging discussion on the shifting dynamics of China-European Union relations and the strategic role of the Atlantic.
The session included Sabrina Medeiros as the moderator and as discussants Regina Queiroz (FCSEA) and Adriano Lauro (Visiting Professor at LusoGlobe in 2025). Students from FCSEA and researchers affiliated with LusoGlobe attended the event and participated actively in the Q&A session, demonstrating a strong interest in the geopolitical themes addressed in the book.
Paulo Duarte’s work explores contemporary Chinese foreign policy, EU-China relations in a time of global crises, and China’s growing presence in the Atlantic space, including in Portuguese geopolitical thinking. The event underscored LusoGlobe’s ongoing commitment to fostering critical reflection on international affairs and promoting the work of its research community.
