The 25th of April 50 years anniversary

As a way of marking and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, Lusófona University has programmed and has been holding a set of events that, in different ways, seek to reflect the impact of the April Revolution on Portuguese society.

Paper Awarded from ISCTE Prize

“Sindicatos da Polícia: contributo para um novo sistema de aferição da representatividade”, (Análise Social, VI 1.º, 2021, n.º 238), co-authored by Cristina Nunes, was awarded by João Ferreira de Almeida prize (ISCTE-IUL) as the best scientific article.

Violence against the elderly on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe

On May 10th, Professor Hélia Bracons participated in the International Congress on Ageing, with the work entitled "Violence against the elderly on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe". The communication was joint with master Paula Deus.

Spring Research School 2024

For the second time, Lusófona University, through LusoGlobe, had the honor of hosting the Spring Research School of the Political Observer (Portugal) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA). An international and fruitful partnership which, in this edition, organized a round table discussion on Portuguese politics in the context of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution.

Portuguese-Speaking Africa: Decolonization and its Legacies

On May 15th, a lecture on “DECOLONIZATION AND ITS LEGACIES IN PORTUGUESE - SPEAKING AFRICA” was given by Prof. António Costa Pinto, Lusófona University. The lecture is part of Events Marking the 50th Anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, that ended Portugal's dictatorship in one night,  hosted by the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies University of Nairobi in collaboration with Portugal ambassador- H.E Ambassador Ana Filomena Rocha.
