On October 29, 2025, an online presentation was delivered in the thematic area “Social Work, Ageing, and Support Networks”, entitled “Loneliness and Violence in the Ageing Process (RiViS 65+)” (team: Fátima Gameiro, Beatriz Rosa, Paula Ferreira, Ana Paula Garcia, and Carlos Poiares), within the scope of the Research Seminar in Social Work, organized by the Lusófona University - Porto University Center.

Within the scope of the VIII International Congress on Human Rights and Public Policies, organized by the University of Salamanca at the Faculty of Law of Salamanca, two communications were presented on October 23, 2025: one in the thematic area “Ageing and Human Rights”, entitled “When Time Turns into Silence: Loneliness in Older People” (team: Fátima Gameiro, Beatriz Rosa, Paula Ferreira, Ana Paula Garcia and Carlos Poiares); and another in the thematic area “Public Policies and the Protection of Childhood and Adolescence”, entitled “Spaces of Imagination – Virtual Reality and Art in Inclusive Educational Contexts: ReViOP” (team: Ana Pedro, Fátima Gameiro, Paula Ferreira, Ana Paula Garcia, Jacqueline Marques, Nélson Ramalho and Hélia Bracons).

Nelson Ramalho and Ana Paula García, from Social Work Institute, together with Patrícia Alagoa, an undergraduate student, published the article “Home care services and the promotion of health and well-being among older adults: the case of Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Amadora” in the journal RIAGE - Revista Ibero-Americana de Gerontologia.

LusoGlobe researcher Filipe Pinto is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Szeged, where he delivered two well-attended lectures this morning. His sessions attracted a remarkable number of students, especially considering that attendance was optional and participation included completing an assessment test designed by him as part of the evaluation process.

Reflecting on the experience, Filipe Pinto highlighted the warm reception he received from the university community, noting that he feels “almost at home” at Szeged due to the kindness and enthusiasm of students and colleagues.

His visit also includes the recording of a new episode of the think tank “A Cor do Dinheiro”, which will be filmed directly from the Rector’s Office at the University of Szeged.
