To celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2024, IPSA organized an international conference in partnership with the Gulbenkian Foundation and in collaboration with the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP) on the theme Democratization and Autocratization from 11-13 September 2024. This event was held at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal, and is expected to draw over 300 participants (scholars, international organizations, government representatives, associations, and NGOs). From May 2024 until December 2024, the fifth edition of the Permanent Seminar on Islamic Studies was held at Universidade Lusófona, coordinated by Fabrizio Boscaglia. This cycle of events consisted of scientific lectures on Islam and Islamic civilisation, given by Portuguese and international experts, in Portuguese and English.
