War & Law: The Future of Conflict

On the 12th of October at the Belém Cultural Centre, the Conference War & Law: the Future of Conflict. Sabrina Medeiros was an invited speaker at the conference, organised by Prof. Laura Iñigo and Filipe Pathé Duarte, NOVA School of Law. The speech was dedicated to the hybrid AI cyber nexus.

Strategic Awareness in South Atlantic

The event examined South Atlantic countries' opportunities and challenges within the current international framework. By focusing on the National Defence of the South Atlantic state actors, discussions will revolve around critical aspects such as the security of the Amazon, the future of South American cooperation, the Atlantic basin, and the Portuguese-Speaking-Countries Community (CPLP).

Conference “Reflections on Compulsory Military Service”

On October 11, 2023, the Conference "Reflections on Compulsory Military Service", at Agostinho da Silva Auditorium, invited experts to discuss this important topic. Sérgio Vieira da Silva and José António Carochinho were the organizers and hosts of the event.

Subsidiarity: Political Doctrine and State Model

On October 6th, at 10 am, Sílvia Mangerona from Universidade Lusófona gave the lecture "Subsidiary State and its External Consequence - State of Subsidiary Sovereignty" and to present her book: "Subsidiarity: Political Doctrine and State Model" at the Santa Catarina Federal University (UFSC).

Publication out on political debates impact

Susana Rogeiro Nina co-authored the article "Does the Exposure to Televised Debates Change the Weight of Different Criteria for Candidate Assessment? A Quasi-Experiment in the Context of the 2014 Spitzenkandidaten Debate".

Publication: Semantic Interoperability and Simulations

After the ENDORSE 2023 conference, the selected papers were published by the European Union Publications Office.
Sabrina Medeiros, Cintiene Mendes, and Ana Paiva published a piece entitled "Policy building through semantics interoperability simulations."
